Blind Bid
The Blind Bid concept will once again be a part of the auction. Blind Bid will offer a variety of Art, Jewelry, and Trips-something for everyone! Each item will have a corresponding bid sheet.  You will be able to bid “blindly” on an item and then place your bid in a sealed box.  The bid sheet will ask for a minimum and maximum bid. At the close of Blind Bid (8:00 p.m.) each sealed box will be opened and the bid sheet with the highest bid wins the item.  In the event of a tie the maximum bids will be used to determine the winner.

Terms and Conditions

Registration
Each Auction attendee will be assigned a bid number & a catalog at check-in. If you received a catalog in the mail, please bring it with you the night of the auction.

Absentee Bid
If you are unable to attend the night of the Auction you may bid using an absentee bid.  On the Auction website is a printable absentee form. Must be received no later than 9am CDT on the 16th of April, 2010.

Silent Auction and Items of Note
All items have a corresponding white bid sheet. Use your bid number, not your name, to bid on an item. All bids are in whole dollar amounts only and must be made in $5 increments. The highest bid at closing wins. Please note the minimum bids and the bidding increments as it is imperative these are followed. If theses rules are not followed, your bid will be counted invalid. To BUY IT NOW, write your bid number next to the BUY IT NOW amount on the bid sheet and notify the Auction volunteer worker.

Blind Bid
All items have a corresponding bid sheet. You will write your bid for an item and place your bid in the corresponding sealed box. Your bid will be unknown (or blind) to other bidding competitors. Be sure to fill out the “maximum bid allowed” at the bottom of the bid sheet. At the end of the bidding, the box will be opened and the sheet with the highest bid wins. In the event of a tie, your maximum bid amount will be your final bid. Please bid in whole dollar amounts. If a maximum bid is not listed and a tie occurs, the item is won by the person who added a maximum bid. If these rules are not followed, your bid will be counted invalid.

Live
Hold up your bid number so that the spotter and Auctioneer can see who is bidding. The last highest bid wins the item. The Auctioneer will say “sold to…” and call your number.

Successful Bids and Payments
Payments may be made by cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Please make checks payable to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild. All sales are final. Items may be removed from the Auction only by exhibiting a paid receipt. The cashiers will be located at the east end of the Davidson Center. We encourage you to take your items at this time. However, if you are unable to so, items may be picked up in the Terrace Room at the Davidson Center from 8:00AM to 9:00AM on Saturday, April 17, 2010.

Additional Considerations

  • Plan in advance with your friends to bid on the large catered parties which are among the most popular Live Auction items.
  • Prices listed in the catalog are estimates only and have been rounded to the next dollar. Items and services are not warranted by the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild as to value or quality or for tax or other purposes.
  • All sales are final and “as is”. There will be no substitutions, exchanges, or refunds with donors.
  • The Donor reserves the right to request a refundable damage deposit on vehicles, boats, condominiums, and other valuable items that are on loan to the purchaser.
  • The Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild is not responsible for items after they leave the Auction.
  • The final decision regarding disputes over winning bids and other Auction-related matter shall rest with the Auction Chairman.
  • The Auction Committee has made a good-faith effort to include complete and accurate information in the Auction catalog. Nothing in this catalog creates a contract between the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild and any individual for goods or services. All dealings are between the high bidder and the merchant donating the good(s) or service(s). Terms of and restrictions on an Auction item are specified in the gift certificate representing the donation.
  • Unless otherwise specified, all Auction items and services must be used at a mutually agreeable time within one year of April 16, 2010.
