How It Works

The Crescen-Dough Auction is a fun-filled evening of bidding, socializing, and dining, all to support the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra (HSO). An advanced reservation is needed to attend. Buyer's Incentive
As you bid and win a Live Auction item, your bid number will be entered into the drawing. Your bid number will be entered one time for every live auction item you win. In other words, if you win 5 Live Auction items, your number will be entered 5 times! At the end of the Live Auction, there will be a random drawing where one lucky person will win the Buyer's Incentive Prize. This year’s prize is a specially mixed case of wine with an estimated value of $500. You must be present to win.

There's more to see and buy at Crescen-Dough Auction than what appears on the website. Keep checking back for additions and updates.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

Registration
Each Auction attendee will be assigned a bid number & a catalog at check-in. If you received a catalog in the mail, please bring it with you the night of the auction.

Absentee Bids
If you are unable to attend the night of the auction, a new option is available this year - the Absentee Bid. The Guild is not responsible for bids that are not received by this date and time.

Silent Auction and Items of Note
All items have a corresponding white bid sheet. Use your bid number, not your name, to bid on an item. All bids are in whole dollar amounts only and must be made in $5 increments. The highest bid at closing wins. Please note the minimum bids and the bidding increments as it is imperative these are followed. If theses rules are not followed, your bid will be counted invalid. To BUY IT NOW, write your bid number next to the BUY IT NOW amount on the bid sheet and notify the Auction volunteer worker.

Blind Bid
This is a new addition to the auction this year. All items have a corresponding bid sheet. You will write your bid for an item and place your bid in the corresponding sealed box. Your bid will be unknown (or blind) to other bidding competitors. Be sure to fill out the “maximum bid allowed” at the bottom of the bid sheet. At the end of the bidding, the box will be opened and the sheet with the highest bid wins. In the event of a tie, your maximum bid amount will your final bid. Please bid in whole dollar amounts. If a maximum bid is not listed and a tie occurs, the item is won by the person who added a maximum bid. If these rules are not followed, your bid will be counted invalid.

Live Auction
Hold up your bid number so that the spotter and Auctioneer can see who is bidding. The last highest bid wins the item. The Auctioneer will say “sold to…” and call your number.

Successful Bids and Payments
Payments may be made by cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Please make checks payable to the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild. All sales are final. Items may be removed from the Auction only by exhibiting a paid receipt. Check out begins at 9:15PM at the east end of the Davidson Center. We encourage you to take your items at this time. However, if you are unable to so, items may be picked up in the Terrace Room at the Davidson Center from 8:00AM to 9:00AM on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
